Psalm 9
1For the Chief Musician; set to Muthlabben. A Psalm of David. I will give thanks unto the LORD with my whole heart; I will shew forth all thy marvelous works.
2I will be glad and exult in thee: I will sing praise to thy name, O thou Most High.
3When mine enemies turn back, they stumble and perish at thy presence.
4For thou hast maintained my right and my cause; thou satest in the throne judging righteously.
5Thou hast rebuked the nations, thou hast destroyed the wicked, thou hast blotted out their name for ever and ever.
6The enemy are come to an end, they are desolate for ever; and the cities which thou hast overthrown, their very memorial is perished.
7But the LORD sitteth as king for ever: he hath prepared his throne for judgment.
8And he shall judge the world in righteousness, he shall minister judgment to the peoples in uprightness.
9The LORD also will be a high tower for the oppressed, a high tower in times of trouble;
10And they that know thy name will put their trust in thee; for thou, LORD, hast not forsaken them that seek thee.
11Sing praises to the LORD, which dwelleth in Zion: declare among the people his doings.
12For he that maketh inquisition for blood remembereth them: he forgetteth not the cry of the poor.
13Have mercy upon me, O LORD; behold my affliction which I suffer of them that hate me, thou that liftest me up from the gates of death;
14That I may shew forth all thy praise: in the gates of the daughter of Zion, I will rejoice in thy salvation.
15The nations are sunk down in the pit that they made: in the net which they hid is their own foot taken.
16The LORD hath made himself known, he hath executed judgment: the wicked is snared in the work of his own hands. Higaion. Selah
17The wicked shall return to Sheol, even all the nations that forget God.
18For the needy shall not alway be forgotten, nor the expectation of the poor perish for ever.
19Arise, O LORD; let not man prevail: let the nations be judged in thy sight.
20Put them in fear, O LORD: let the nations know themselves to be but men. Selah
Psalm 10
1Why standest thou afar off, O LORD? why hidest thou thyself in times of trouble?
2In the pride of the wicked the poor is hotly pursued; let them be taken in the devices that they have imagined.
3For the wicked boasteth of his heart’s desire, and the covetous renounceth, yea, contemneth the LORD.
4The wicked, in the pride of his countenance, saith, He will not require it. All his thoughts are, There is no God.
5His ways are firm at all times; thy judgments are far above out of his sight: as for all his adversaries, he puffeth at them.
6He saith in his heart, I shall not be moved: to all generations I shall not be in adversity.
7His mouth is full of cursing and deceit and oppression: under his tongue is mischief and iniquity.
8He sitteth in the lurking places of the villages: in the covert places doth he murder the innocent: his eyes are privily set against the helpless.
9He lurketh in the covert as a lion in his den: he lieth in wait to catch the poor: he doth catch the poor, when he draweth him in his net.
10He croucheth, he boweth down, and the helpless fall by his strong ones.
11He saith in his heart, God hath forgotten: he hideth his face; he will never see it.
12Arise, O LORD; O God, lift up thine hand: forget not the poor.
13Wherefore doth the wicked contemn God, and say in his heart, Thou wilt not require it?
14Thon hast seen it; for thou beholdest mischief and spite, to take it into thy hand: the helpless committeth himself unto thee; thou hast been the helper of the fatherless.
15Break thou the arm of the wicked; and as for the evil man, seek out his wickedness till thou find none.
16The LORD is King for ever and ever: the nations are perished out of his land.
17LORD, thou hast heard the desire of the meek: thou wilt prepare their heart, thou wilt cause thine ear to hear:
18To judge the fatherless and the oppressed, that man which is of the earth may be terrible no more.
Psalm 11
1For the Chief Musician. A Psalm of David. In the LORD put I my trust: how say ye to my soul, Flee as a bird to your mountain?
2For, lo, the wicked bend the bow, they make ready their arrow upon the string, that they may shoot in darkness at the upright in heart.
3If the foundations be destroyed, what can the righteous do?
4The LORD is in his holy temple, the LORD, his throne is in heaven; his eyes behold, his eyelids try, the children of men.
5The LORD trieth the righteous: but the wicked and him that loveth violence his soul hateth.
6Upon the wicked he shall rain snares; fire and brimstone and burning wind shall be the portion of their cup.
7For the LORD is righteous; he loveth righteousness: the upright shall behold his face.
